When it comes to getting a bit of dirt under the fingernails we like to lead by example. Everyone on the City Farmers team is trained in hands on pet, garden and pool care. We really like it when you bring your pets in for a visit; they’re always welcome. Helping you care for your pet, garden or pool puts a smile on our face. If you need a hand with anything when you’re visiting just sing out.

You might have noticed that we’ve had a bit of a spruce up. We have a fresh new look but underneath it we’re still the same down-to-earth City Farmers. While we’ve been making our existing stores easier to find and more customer-friendly, we’ve also been growing. We have
new stores opening in Brisbane and acrosse Queensland, so stay tuned for info. They are a bit hush-hush at the moment but you’ll be the first to know.
At City Farmers we love backyards and all the great things you can do in them. We always have. In 1991 three guys (and their wives, kids, dogs–and even the cats) hatched an idea to sell premium pet food and pet supplies, garden sprays, fertilisers, pool salt & chlorine in bulk. Pretty soon it took on a life of its own, City Farmers was the place to go for pet, garden and pool supplies.
By 2005 City Farmers had grown to 10 stores in Perth and it seemed everyone could sing our catchy jingle. One time we were so busy the police had to come down to control traffic outside our Kelmscott store (no kidding)!!
But for us it’s not just about selling products. It’s all about care. We get a real kick out of helping people get the most out of their yards and life.

At City Farmers we’re about connecting people to the things that make life great. Like family and friends, pets, community and the environment. Naturally we like to rub shoulders with local organisations and businesses that think and act (and smell) like we do.
One of our mates,
Old MacDonald’s Farms, nurtures understanding and affection for rural animals with their fun kids’ education program. We’re also good mates with
Dogs West, which provides all sorts of important services for dog owners They’re big on responsible breeding, so if you want to buy a pup they’re the people to see. We’re friends with the
Aviculture Society of Western Australia (that’s a club for bird lovers in case you were wondering) and we also like to lend a hand at the
Dogs’ Refuge. The team down there really rely on our support as well as public support (that means you too) in looking after our four legged friends.
